stupid dogs

i am very frustrated today. thinking about getting rid of (never thought those words would come out of my mouth) my three oldest shih tzus. they are peeing everywhere in the house :( they are untrainable as a pack. only the yorkie mix is 97% housebroken.

so sorry to hear you are having so much trouble with your dogs. Have you tried going back to the beginning, so to speak. What I mean is have you tried going back to as if they were new pups that needed training, either by crating them (if you are a crate user which I am) or confining them to just one room or even just a play pen within the room. And then just let them out to go potty and then put them back in, basically starting all over. But since they are older they should catch on faster than pups.

I have had to do this a time or two when stress put one of my dogs off kilter and then the bad behavior seemed to escalate, until I went back to the beginning.

I hope you can find a solution that does not involve you having to give up your pets.

you are right, i need to retrain them. it is harder to do with 5 dogs, but will be worth the effort. sigh! at least they aren't pooping in the house!
