i've had my pajama jeans for a week now.
on first inspection after opening package, they look like jeans, although the "fly" is a little dorky. but let's face it, most of us don't tuck our shirts in and show off the fly of our jeans anyway. to me, i was sold with the back pockets. they look as good as any demin jeans that i already own. pocket detail is important to me, i am a blue jean queen, however, i'm particular about certain criteria of what makes a good jean. the front pocket is deep enough to put my fingers in, they aren't very deep, but you can fit a credit card in there, or your phone, although the top portion of your phone will be sticking out above the pocket.
my next criteria of importance is fit. (i won't even get to the fit part if i don't like the back pockets). so i pulled them on and thought ut oh, should have ordered an xl. but, they immediately molded to my butt after a few pull ups on the waist. they fall a bit lower on the waist than i like, but they have a pink tie on the inside of the waistband that works really well after i yanked them up to a proper height. and the cool thing is, you can pull them up higher, there is enough give to get them below my belly button and above my hips. i can get them where i want them.
comfort is right up there in importance also, if jeans dig in my crotch i won't wear them, for sure! these pajama jeans are more comfortable than any pair of well worn jeans that i own, right out of the package.
but WAIT, i advise you not to wear them right out of the package, as the dye runs! i noticed that my hands were blue the other day and thought what the heck? ... then i realized that i was should have washed them before wearing. after the first wash, my hands were blue again (i often have my hands in the front pockets of my pants, nervous habit i guess), so i decided to wash them with vinegar, as that is what i kind of remember from my tie dye days as being an agent to make the dye set.
did not work. i had blue hands again today. so they are back in the washing machine on quick wash for another run through. i remember as a teen washing my jeans over and over, adding just a bit of bleach, (so dangerous when you are clumsy like me), to get them to be "worn in/broken". i'm guess that is what i have to do with these too, less the bleach.
so far as looks, i always ask for nikki's opinion to make sure i'm not looking to weird, and she liked them and asked for a pair! of course i've asked hubby over and over, "honey are you sure they look ok" and i've been in front of the mirror more often in the last week than i have been in the last 20 years looking at my jeans, and well my verdict is:
LOVE THEM! off to order another pair....
